Sebastien Lacoin is General Manager of the technical team at Kansai Airports. He is in charge of master planning, environment and investment management, gives support on international contracting and civil engineering matters, and coordinates the action of the technical team over the three airports of Kansai.
In the aftermath of typhoon JEBI, he coordinated with stakeholders to manage the road access through the bridge heavily damaged by a drifting tanker. From October, he provided support and expertise – and out-of-the box thinking – to set up KIX new defense strategy against natural disasters, specifically against typhoons. He is a member of the technical committee in charge of assessing the effect of the typhoon and providing a strategical review of the island defense against flooding.
Previously, he has been actively involved in construction business with VINCI, developing a wide range of infrastructures from sea facilities to buildings.
